Chinese dramas and films

Li Xian ("Flourished Peony", "Go Go Squid!") and Zhang Jing Yi ("Legend of Zang Hai", "Lighter and Princess") are set to appear in the romantic drama "A Touch Of Green" (Wu Li Qing, 雾里青).

The series will be directed by Qiu Yu Ning, best known for his work on dramas "The First Frost" (for which he also served as screenwriter), "You Light Up My Star", and "It Started with a Kiss" (2005).

The plot is based on the novel of the same name by Ming Kai Ye He and follows the relationship between ceramics artist Chen Qing Wu (played by Zhang Jing Yi) and the Meng brothers.

Chen Qing Wu once believed she would marry Meng Qi Ran — they had known each other since childhood, and she was deeply in love with him. Meng Qi Ran is a bright, free-spirited musician who shies away from stability and responsibility. He takes Chen Qing Wu’s love for granted, prioritising his music and freedom. In the end, Chen Qing Wu realises they are not right for each other and decides to end the relationship, focusing entirely on developing her ceramics studio.

Li Xian plays the elder brother, Meng Fu Yuan. A successful founder of a tech company, he is very reserved and hides his feelings. For many years, Meng Fu Yuan has secretly loved Chen Qing Wu but never dared to confess, as he always considered her his brother’s fiancée. After the breakup, however, he decides to take a step closer. He helps her find a space for her studio, introduces her to her first clients, and gives her valuable gifts. Chen Qing Wu notices his attention and begins to suspect his true feelings.

At that point, Meng Qi Ran realises his mistake and also starts trying to win her back. Chen Qing Wu faces a difficult choice. She must also stand up to her family, who disapprove of her relationship with the elder brother. Despite all the obstacles, Chen Qing Wu firmly decides to be with Meng Fu Yuan and boldly confesses her love to him.

The official cast announcement for the drama is expected on April 20.

Filming is scheduled to begin on April 29. It will take place in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Jiangnan. The shoot is expected to last 100 days, with a total of 24 episodes produced.
