The Chinese detective drama " Light To The Night" (黑夜告白) is set to premiere.

The main cast includes Dylan Wang He Di ("Guardians of the Dafeng", "Love Between Fairy and Devil"), Ren Min ("Hold a Court Now", "White Cat Legend") and Pan Yue Ming ("Day and Night", "Candle in the Tomb").

The 28-episode drama will start on April 26, 2026 at 12:00 Beijing time. In China, it will be broadcast on the Youku platform and CCTV, while the series will also be released simultaneously on Netflix.

The director of the project is Wang Zhi, known for the dramas "You Are My Glory" and "Beauty From Heart".

The plot revolves around an unsolved case involving the disappearance of a father and daughter in an apartment complex elevator in 1997. The investigation spans 20 years. Veteran police officer He Yuanhang (Pan Yue Ming) and his young partner Ran Fangxu (Dylan Wang He Di) begin the investigation. In 2006, the father’s remains are discovered, and the case is reclassified as a homicide. In 2008, Ran Fangxu dies in a car accident, and a seriously injured He Yuanhang is forced to leave the service. Years later, He Yuanhang’s daughter, He Xiaohe (Ren Min), becomes a police officer and uses modern technology to reopen the investigation, connecting the past and the present.

For Dylan Wang He Di, this role marks a departure from his usual image: the actor will appear on screen with short hair and stubble, matching the look of a tough detective. As of April 21, the number of pre‑orders (reservations) on the Youku platform exceeded 2.05 million.
