Qin Tian Yu has posted several new photos to mark the Chinese Duanwu Festival (端午节, the Dragon Boat Festival).

The festival falls on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, which this year is June 19.

The holiday commemorates Qu Yuan, a renowned Chinese poet who lived in the state of Chu during the Warring States period. In 278 BC, when Qin general Bai Qi captured the Chu capital, Qu Yuan wrote his final work, "Lament for Ying," and drowned himself in the river. Local residents threw packets of rice into the water to prevent fish or water dragons from consuming the poet's body. These rice packets evolved into zongzi – Chinese rice dumplings with various fillings wrapped in leaves (bamboo, reed, or other). They bear a slight resemblance to dolma, but are quite different.

Qin Tian Yu chose the hashtag "all hands on deck for zongzi" because eating zongzi in large quantities is an essential part of the Dragon Boat Festival tradition.

Judging by the post's geotag - Zhejiang province - Qin Tian Yu is still in Hengdian, filming the series "Tales of the Floating World" (浮生, 浮生物语, Fu Sheng). Qin Tian Yu plays the role of Xie Duan. The lead roles in the series are portrayed by Chen Zhe Yuan and Wang Chu Ran.

Recently, videos of Qin Tian Yu in a new look during filming for the drama "Tales of the Floating World" have also surfaced online, plus a short BTS-video showing the filming of one of the scenes and an excerpt from his live stream in which he sings.
