Chinese dramas and films

The drama «The Early Spring» (早春晴朗) has successfully concluded its run.

Although Douban has not yet released a rating at the time of writing this article, and the platform is witnessing battles between those who rated the drama highly and those giving it the lowest scores, it is already clear that the debate around an idol drama itself indicates that the content has «landed» with the audience. Romance dramas usually do not provoke debate; they simply come and go.

UPD 11.09.2026: The Douban rating is 6.7 as of September 11.

Ratings from other platforms indicate strong positive audience interest. So far, the ratings are as follows:

Netflix
The series broke a record for Chinese content and reached No. 2 in Netflix's global non-English chart in just its first week of streaming. This is the highest achievement for a mainland Chinese series in the platform's history. The previous record belonged to the drama «В погоне за нефритом», which debuted at No. 6. As of September 10, 2026, the drama ranks No. 6 on Netflix's Global Daily Chart. In other words, among all series on the platform, «Ясное утро ранней весны» ranks No. 6. The series entered the daily top 10 in 54 countries and regions.

Youku
The popularity index exceeded 10,000 just three days after the premiere - the fastest result for a modern romance drama in 2026. By episode 19 on September 7, according to Yunhe Data, the series' share of effective views reached 33.9%. On September 10, a new peak was recorded on the Lighthouse platform - 88.22 million views in a day, a record for Youku exclusive projects in 2026. Today, the series' creators reported that its effective view share reached 40.3%, holding the No. 1 spot in Yunhe trends for 13 consecutive days!

MyDramaList 8.6

IMDb 8.5

Russian platforms:

DoramaTV 9.6
Adrama 4.91 out of 5

A second wave of ratings will now begin with those who do not watch ongoing series but start a drama only after all episodes have been released, so some changes can be expected.

The drama's OST earned particular praise from viewers.

Congratulations to the creators of the drama, the actors, musicians, and composers, as well as the entire film crew and producers, on a truly high-quality and perhaps breakthrough work. Through their efforts, the Chinese drama industry has been given a new impetus that we have yet to grasp. Perhaps this drama may seem modest in budget, restrained in its means of expression, and not pompous in its plot, but it is a very elegant simplicity with a wonderful aftertaste (if only that formulaic ending with the proposal in the museum had been cut, it would have been even better — an editor's lament, pay no attention).
