Filming for the 30-episode drama «Tales of the Floating World» (Tales of the Floating World, 浮生, 浮生物语, Fu Sheng) wrapped on August 19, 2026, in Hengdian.

The series stars Chen Zheyuan («The White Olive Tree», «Fated Hearts») and Wang Churan («Love Has Fireworks», «Overdo») in the lead roles. They are joined by Deng Kai («Pursuit of Jade», «Укрощая бурю»), Qin Tianyu («Fated Hearts», «The Starry Love»), and Zhang Wenxin («The Legend of the Condor Heroes: The Great Hero»).

The wrap date coincided with Qixi, China's traditional Valentine's Day, adding extra significance to the celebration.

Chen Zheyuan and Wang Churan met with fans on set and handed out flowers.

Wang Churan personally distributed red roses to supporters and performed two songs, 'Special Person' and 'Starry River for You', as a gesture of appreciation.

Chen Zheyuan also gave flowers to fans and brought his pet dog, Azan, to the wrap event. He had rescued the abandoned and sick puppy during the filming of «The White Olive Tree» and decided to keep him. The dog's name was chosen to echo that of the main character from that drama. Now healthy and full of energy, Azan accompanies his owner to major events and has become a fan favorite. His presence seemed to suggest that Chen Zheyuan was genuinely pleased with the production and optimistic about the outcome. After all, you would not bring your beloved pet to a set where your heart was not fully invested. Chen Zheyuan also has a cat named Liuyi, but the cat prefers to stay home and does not attend public events.

In Hengdian, fans set up a pink-and-teal flower wall, displayed 200 banners, and arranged for large screens to broadcast their well-wishes for the production.

To mark the end of filming, the production company released a poster. It features the two leads embracing in the rain, with the reflection of a white dragon hinting at the dragon nature of the male lead, Ao Chi.

According to the official synopsis, «Tales of the Floating World» is a fantasy love story filled with mysteries that spans multiple historical periods, from the Warring States era to the Republic of China. At its heart is Sha Luo (Wang Churan), the owner of a tea house called «Bu Ting» (or «Eternity»), who brews a special tea called «Fu Sheng» («Fleeting Life») for her guests. Each person who drinks this bitter yet sweetly lingering tea shares their own story, allowing viewers to experience a series of smaller tales about love, hatred, and obsession among magical beings.

Ao Chi (Chen Zheyuan) is a dragon and the grandson of the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea. An outcast within his clan, he is nevertheless related to Egyptian gods, including Anubis. During the Republic era, he hides his true identity behind the guise of a young marshal. He and Sha Luo are bitter rivals whose animosity unexpectedly gives way to love — a love with a history spanning a thousand years.

Zi Miao (Deng Kai) is the God of Water. Sha Luo was originally a tree demon (a dryad, in Western terms). Taking pity on her, Zi Miao granted her human form, forever changing her fate. Sha Luo even fell in love with him, but that love proved tragic and destructive. After surviving that heartbreak, Sha Luo lived on into the Republic era, where she opened her tea house. Her primary goal throughout the story is to recover her lost memories.

The series is expected to premiere on iQiyi in late 2026 or early 2027. Pre-booking is already available.
