Filming for the series «Clear River, Calm Sea» (河清海晏, He Qing Hai Yan, River clear and sea calm) has commenced in Quanzhou, Fujian province. The production is expected to run for approximately 80 to 90 days.

An official opening ceremony has yet to take place, and the cast has not been formally announced. The news of the start of production was confirmed after onlookers spotted the filming in progress.

Based on visual observation, the leads have been identified as Arthur Chen Feiyu («Love Story in the 1970s», «Love Beyond the Grave») and Zhang Zifeng («Loving Strangers», «She's Got No Name»). Lai Weiming («Genius Girlfriend», «Blossoms Of Power») is also rumored to be part of the cast, though this has not yet been confirmed.

This marks not the first collaboration between Arthur Chen Feiyu and Zhang Zifeng. The two previously appeared together in the patriotic war film series «The Volunteers».

The drama will be directed by Qin Zhen, known for her work on «Love Beyond the Grave».

The series is expected to consist of 20 episodes.

Chen Feiyu will portray Zhou Haiyan, a young man with a troubled past who becomes an undercover narcotics officer.

Zhang Zifeng plays Tang Heqing, a girl who journeys from being a victim of domestic abuse to becoming a forensic medical examiner.

At the heart of the story lies a tale of rescue and mutual support. Sixteen-year-old Tang Heqing, fleeing from her drug-addicted father, gives her last ten yuan to Zhou Haiyan as "payment for protection," and he agrees to help her. From that moment, their fates become intertwined: the young man, who had given up on his dream of becoming a police officer, rediscovers his calling through her influence, while she is inspired by his example and enrolls in medical university. Together, they stand against drug crime, but new trials constantly emerge in their path. To protect his beloved, Zhou Haiyan is forced to part ways with her in order to infiltrate a drug cartel undercover. Five years later, their paths cross once again.

The premise bears a strong resemblance to the recently released drama «Love for You», starring Song Weilong and Zhang Jingyi.

The first images to reach the public were of the pair filming a basketball court scene (from their childhood) and a scene involving police officers (from the adult storyline). Viewers noted the "most adorable height difference" between the two leads, with many describing the on-screen atmosphere as both lively and deeply moving.

It has also been observed that Zhang Zifeng's new look with long hair presents a striking contrast to her usual short hairstyle, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the project.
